My supercharger belt broke and I took it into the shop. They said the idler pulley was torn up. By the time I talked to the mechanic he had already found and order a new idler pulley. I was reading on this board about how JR has been sending out new pullies that are plastic. Are they a free replacement? If so, would it be worth waiting to replace the idler pulley with the new style? or could I do it myself pretty easily. Thanks.

The plastic pulley wears better and might be worth the wait. JR sent mine free of charge and it took 3 days to arrive. I changed my own and I'm not a super mechanic like a lot of the guys on this forum. On the positive side, if you can change the pulley, then you qualify to change the belts in the future.

Shawn was great. He sent me a set of pulley replacement at free of charge. The weather has been unforgiven the last several days so I haven't gotten around to it yet...I've never replace one before neither. How hard is it? How long does it take to replace those pulleys? Also, while I'm down there, if it is not too hard, I'd like to replace the SC belt as well. Is replacing the belt tough? How long?
